God commands Hosea to marry a harlot (prostitute) and have children. They were given names that reflect how God would treat the nation e.g. Scattered, No Mercy, Not My People. How would you like to be named? Hosea obeyed because his relationship with his unfaithful wife was to be a picture of God’s unending love for those He called His people! What lessons can we learn?
